Jeffrey Ellis, MD

Jeffrey Ellis, MD is a board certified dermatologist. Dr. Ellis graduated from the combination BA/MD program at Brooklyn College/SUNY Downstate. During medical school, he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society. Following a pediatric internship at Long Island Jewish Hospital, Dr. Ellis completed his dermatology residency at SUNY Downstate Medical Center, serving as chief resident in his last year. After residency, Dr. Ellis spent an additional year in training, where he completed a fellowship in Mohs Surgery. Dr. Ellis was the the Director of Dermatological Surgery at North Shore/ Long Island Jewish Hospital, and is currently an Attending Dermatologist at North Shore/ Long Island Jewish Hospital.

Amy Slear, MD

Dr. Amy Slear


Amy Slear, MD is a board certified dermatologist. After finishing her undergraduate education at Yale University, Dr. Slear attended SUNY Downstate for medical school. During medical school, she was elected to the Alpha Omega alpha honor society. She completed a preliminary year in internal medicine at Lenox Hill Hospital and a dermatology residency at SUNY Downstate, serving as chief resident in her last year. Dr. Slear currently teaches residents at the New York Harbor VA.



Dr. Charisse McCall

Dr. Charisse McCall is a native New Yorker who was raised in Long Island. She practices adult, pediatric, surgical, and laser dermatology with a focus in cosmetics. She attended the State University of New York at New Paltz, where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree with a major in biology and a minor in psychology. She was then involved in micro and molecular biology research at the Cornell University Laboratory in Eastport, NY for 2 years before attending medical school. Dr. McCall graduated from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Bradenton, FL in 2008. She completed family medicine and dermatology residencies at St. John’s Episcopal Hospital, serving as Chief Resident during both training programs. She is a board certified family practitioner and is board eligible in Dermatology. Dr. McCall is published in the Journal of the American Osteopathic College of Dermatology. She is a voluntary house staff dermatologist at Mount Sinai Hospital, where she teaches residents and medical students. Her outside interests include ballet, martial arts and dog rescue.


Amrit Kumar, PA-C

kumar-pic-236x300Amrit Kumar is a Board Certified PA specializing in Dermatology. He attained his Bachelor of Science degree from the Physician Assistant Program at Long Island University. Aside from focusing on early detection and treatment of skin cancers, he treats various skin conditions such as acne, skin discoloration, eczema, psoriasis, skin rashes, excessive sweating, various STD’s, keloids/ scars, rosacea, warts, itchy scalp, removal of skin growths, hair loss, nail fungus, and so forth. He practices medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology. He is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and New York State Dermatology Physician Assistants.




Dr. Ellis and Dr. Slear have both dedicated their careers to continuously learning and sharing their skills with others. Both physicians enjoy teaching, and work with the Family Practice physicians at Glen Cove Hospital.  They have authored several articles and textbook chapters, and have been invited guest speakers at international meetings.

Their desire to give back to the community has led them to participate in skin cancer screenings and a teledermatology program that provides care to New York City’s homeless. Together these fine physicians strive to provide medical, surgical and cosmetic dermatological expertise with compassion.
